Not only do we want to ensure that we prepare fresh products with love and care, we also want to make sure that the ingredients we use are of high quality. Everything we do is based on the philosophy of “feel-good” products. Therefore, it was important to us that you can enjoy delicious products feeling guilt-free.
A prime example of a guilt-free “feel-good” product we offer, are our different variations of coffee. Whether you prefer to drink your coffee black and strong or milky and sweet, ice cold or nice and hot – we offer something to suit any preference. True coffee lovers will know that making a good cup of coffee starts with high quality coffee beans. Here at D’Juice House, we work with Café del Mar. Café del Mar is a local company that values the rich flavour of the coffee beans they select equally as much as the sustainability of the production of the beans. This is why they work closely with “Stichting Solidaridad” and “Rainforest Alliance“.
Stichting Solidaridad believes that the best way to improve the standard of living for people in developing countries, is to ensure fair and sustainable trade. Many farmers in developing countries unfortunately do not get fair wages for their work, which makes them resort to the use of unhealthy and expensive chemical pesticides for fear of losing their crops. Not only are wages low, but the working conditions many farmers in developing countries work in are dangerous. Stichting Solidaridad helps to train farmers in new agricultural techniques and sets up cooperatives to ensure fair wages amongst other things. The aim of the organisation is to create products that are made in a way that is both humane and environmentally friendly.
The blend of Café Del Mar Coffee we serve at D’Juice House is called “Nero”. This blend is made of pure arabica beans from both the volcanic highlands of San Marco, Guatemala and Santos, Brazil. Arabica beans are softer and more refined in taste. They also have a lower caffeine content, and have less of a lingering after-taste. The beans are of highest quality and are Rainforest Alliance certified, meaning they ensure sustainabale livelihoods and biodiversity conservation. The taste of this blend has a fruity note, and is very rich in flavour.
Café Del Mar coffee is packaged in so-called “kraft-paper” which is a durable, biodegradable and recyclable material. The beans themselves are transported from their origin (such as Guatemala) in jute-bags, which provides safe and environmentally friendly packaging.
The thought and care that the people at Café Del Mar put into the production of their coffee beans is reflected in the amazing flavour of the coffee. In the recent high temperatures, an iced coffee or our “Ice Latte” smoothie that is prepared with a shot of Café Del Mar espresso, banana and soy vanilla milk will wake you up as well as cool you down!
